Default DEER sold for 80 some ectos.

I find this a bit offensive since they are a well known guild with decent rating and silver lining (?).

I figure top 10 guilds are fair game for discussion, but delete if out of line.

Awesome; turn the special reward capes into something else that is just farmable.

Why bother GvGing when you can just farm FoW and BUY yourself rank?

The fact that the leader of the guild was so easily bought out for such a measily price (considering their status and what they went through) doesn't make me feel sympathy or pity at all really... =/

Whoever bought it was selling invites in Random Arenas yesterday, at 10k each.

This is sad IMHO, it's going to make ladder standing(if sold during ladder-lock), and certainly silver, and maybe even gold capes mean much less in the future =/

Oh well, at least the Champion title can't be farmed, of course no one is going to get that one for awhile... Then again, there's always EBAY... =/

Dwto and Deer invites were selling yesterday in HA:

10K invite
100K officer

Believe it or not, it seemed heaps of people were paying for a Deer membership. I could only shake my head and wonder at the stupidity....

iGi sold for 100k+100ecto at last report. That guild officially broke up first though so the situation might be a bit different.

<sarcasm>
Well, at least there's a way to make in-game gold via playing GvG now.
</sarcasm>

Peace,

This exact same thing happened to Gansters In The Hood.

They broke up b/c the guild leader was selling invites, thats right selling invites b4 they broke up. The invites cost mroe though they were 50k per invite (idk about officer status though).

The guild eventually was sold for 500k!!!!! Not just 80 ectos.

The people who get screwed are the guild members that build the guilds reputation and the leader uses that reputation to make money without compensating the members. Hardly ethical in my mind.

Deer, iGi and dtwo were all sold for varying sums in the last 48 hours. In addition, invites are being sold. I find this abominable.

85 ecto is what they reported. (this is what you probably meant in the title)

Dont know where the "100k+100ecto" value came from :\ That sounds alittle stupidly high though. All you get is the name. They lose any silver cape and rank at the end of this season >_>

It actually is an amazing money-making scheme if you think about it.

1 - A random person purchases a slot for being an officer.
2 - Person advertises for invites at a high price.
3 - Person recieves money.
4 - Person rinses and repeats.
5 - Person leaves this guild and hops onto another one.
6 - Repeat all over again.

The power of money indeed.

are these small or large guilds? if small, the brilliant plot:
1)Arrange to all leave current guild and recreate it under different name
2)Start Selling invites, split profit
3)sell guild
4)regroup, no hard feelings amongst members

Or, as guild leader, sell an officer slot, then kick them.

...

This thread has become a plot thread.

lol the only reason people even join these guilds is for the silver trim so there paying 10k to have silver trim for a few weeks not to mention they will most likely git the 10k from u invite u then a few days later when they top out again they kick u :S
